Calling All Race Teams!

We know that having the proper tire pressure can make the difference between winning and losing. To have the best chance of coming out on top you need to have a highly accurate Cecomp tire pressure gauge.

Absolute Process Instruments has a wide variety of gauges to choose from in ranges of 3 PSI up to 5000 PSI. Also available is our exclusive protective boot in both red and orange, perfect for keeping your gauge safe if dropped.

For race teams only, our F20BBL-M8R model has a special race day setting for tires that have an inner and outer tube. The readings will be recorded as (RF/RFIN, RR/RRIN, LR/LRIN, LF/LFIN). Request your F20BBL-M8R with special settings today.

For an all-in-one gauge look at our CTP1B or CTP3B models, both models come with high accuracy of 0.1% on all ranges, the red protective rubber boot, min/max readings, a reinforced sensor area, a white backlit display, and a protective coating on the circuit board. This gauge is built to stand up to whatever you can throw at it.

If you are looking for a budget-friendly gauge, then our DPG1000BBL is the perfect fit for you. This gauge’s sole purpose is to take reading after reading without fail.

New Multi Functional Transmitters and Splitters

New Thermocouple Converter Splitters

 APD 41390 - APD 41391 - APD 41393

The new APD 4139X series solves problems where one thermocouple must be connected to two devices and/or with mismatches between thermocouple types and measuring devices. A thermocouple can be converted to two simulated thermocouple outputs, two DC process outputs, or one of each. This makes it useful to convert, split, isolate, and transmit any thermocouple input for measurement, data recording, and validation.

Both outputs correspond to the input temperature range. Automatic cold junction compensation is standard. When ordered with a mA output, it can be selectively wired for sinking or sourcing allowing use with a powered or unpowered milliamp device.

Full 4-way galvanic isolation make this module useful for ground loop elimination, common mode signal rejection, and noise pickup reduction

New All In One Universal Temperature Transmitter

APD 8000

API’s new high accuracy APD 8000 is our most versatile signal conditioner yet. The unit can be configured for one of many different input types - thermocouple, RTD, thermistor DC, or potentiometer - and converts it to an optically isolated DC voltage or current output. It can be set up and calibrated using onboard switches and push-buttons without the need for a computer or special programmer.

The APD 8000 is perfect for applications where one device needs to cover any number of I/O types. Microprocessor-based linearization and a low noise 18-bit analog output offer ±0.1% accuracy. Exclusive features include an output test function and a variable-brightness Loop-Tracker® LED to indicate the input signal level. Also standard are sink/source output capability, 1200 VRMS full optical isolation, fast shipping and a lifetime warranty.

Wine Bottle Headspace Pressure

PROBLEM

The headspace pressure inside wine bottles needs to be tested for quality control purposes. A reliable gauge with good accuracy and readability is required. Since it is possible for the bottle to be under vacuum or pressure, a compound gauge is required. Compound gauges are designed to allow the user to read either. Using a pressure gauge for vacuum or vice versa will likely provide false readings and possibly destroy your gauge.

SOLUTIONS

Regular use

For regular usage in testing wine bottle headspace pressure, a Cecomp DPG1000B±15PSIG-5 is recommended.

View it here

The –14.7 psi to 15.0 psig range will cover normal headspace pressure ranges of approximately –3 psi (vacuum) to 3 psi pressure, with zero being ideal. A hollow needle is fitted to the gauge by the winery for testing purposes.

Sparkling wines, Champagnes

If sparkling wines (at approximately 45 psig) or Champagnes (at 80 to 90 psi) are being tested, a DPG1000B30INHG100PSIG-5 can be specified.

View it here

This model will cover all normal vacuum/pressure ranges.

Besides choosing a compound range, you may add a backlight, top port, and either an aluminum or NEMA 4X plastic housing.

Matt Joseph, a veteran restorer and a noted author of hundreds of articles and books, is using our DPG1000B gauge on his Soda Blasting machine.

"When I need the highest order of digital accuracy for measuring air pressure, I rely on my Cecomp digital pressure gauge. Analog measurement may be fine for a "quick glance" check of non-critical applications, but when precision is an issue, great digital gauges easily justify their cost."

Larry Dixon on the Cecomp TestPLUS Digital Pressure Gauge

Under the low pressure conditions that half your dragster tires are running, even a tenth of a pound (or 0.1 PSI) can make a huge difference.
Analog gauges just aren't accurate enough to give you reliable pressure readings within 0.1 PSI.
Read more about analog vs. digital gauges here.

In our latest You Tube video, 3-time National Hot Rod Association NHRA champion Larry Dixon gives some tire tips to dragsters who want to improve their game.

Many thanks to Larry Dixon for making this video!
